Common

What sets Edge Zero’s network monitoring solutions apart from others in the market?

Our low-cost solutions couple advanced hardware and software to offer real-time, precise monitoring of low voltage networks with advanced analytics. We provide real data, rather than model-based estimates, to improve the efficiency of existing assets as the distribution grid evolves.

Can Edge Zero’s monitoring solutions be integrated with existing network infrastructure?

Yes, our solutions are designed for seamless integration with existing systems, allowing for easy deployment and minimal disruption.

What configurations are available for the Edge Zero Grid Logger?

The Grid Logger supports various configurations, including:

  • 1 Phase 2 Wire
  • 2 Phase 3 Wire
  • 3 Phase 4 Wire
What is the rated voltage range for the Grid Logger?

The Grid Logger supports:

  • 100 – 277 Vac (L1-to-N Supply Voltage)
  • 170 - 480 Vac 4-Wire/3 Phase Network (Line-to-Line) Plus Neutral for power quality data

Installation

Can the LV monitors be installed under live operating conditions?

Yes, the LV monitors have been designed specifically to minimise network disruption and avoid network outages. The units can be installed utilising IPC clamps in the fit off of neutral and voltage lines.

Can the LV monitors be installed to pole top transformers and ground mounted kiosks?

Yes the units support a variety of mounting options through interchangeable mounting components.

How are the LV monitors commissioned?

The commissioning of installed units is handled through a commissioning mobile App which can be installed on both Apple and Android devices. The App guides the installer through the capture of relevant installation parameters and verifies the integrity of the installation and communications strength.

Data Transmission

Is the transmission rate of power quality data adjustable?

The default transmission rate for the LV monitoring units is 60 sec. This rate can be adjusted to 5 min, 10 min or 15 min transmission intervals.

Are the power quality parameters adjustable?

Yes the transmitted parameters can adjusted to suit requirements. Secondary data streams can also be enabled to include values including individual harmonics.

How are critical events transmitted?

Critical network events including power outages, voltage surge, sags and flicker are configurable in the LV monitoring units. These events are transmitted in real time as they are detected as a separate data stream from the standard power quality data stream.

Data Storage & Cyber Security

Are data transmissions encrypted?

All data packets are transmitted as AEH 256 bit encrypted data streams.

Is data stored in a secure environment?

All customer service data is siloed and protected by layers of authentication and access limits. All services are delivered through HTTPS SSL certificates.

Where is the data and service hosted?

The service is delivered as a hosted cloud service. The service is hosted with AWS and can also be deployed in a Microsoft Azure environment.

Is access to the service secure?

Access to the service is protected by individual oAuth account creation. Two factor authentication, IP limiting and other security measures are also available.

Data Accessibility

Can data be exported from the service?

Custom output reports and CSV exports are available throughout the platform for users with the correct level of authorisation.

What data feeds are available?

A comprehensive documented REST API stack is available for all customer LV monitors for both power quality and status events. Aggregated processed and curated data sets are available for operational, planning and DER team views.

Does the service support SCADA?

A DNP3 virtual RTU service is available which translates the full API data stack to a SCADA DNP3 outstation.

Is access to the service secure?

Access to the service is protected by individual oAuth account creation. Two factor authentication, IP limiting and other security measures are also available.
